The Challenge
When curves and obstacles slowed the bid down
Like many contractors in his field, Leland relied on a combination of satellite imagery, a tape measure, and a measuring wheel to work out the size of parking lots, driveways, and other asphalt areas. For straightforward, open sites, Google Earth could be useful. But once trees or other obstructions blocked the view, it became harder to rely on:
