Moasure enables you to take the following types of measurements:
Measure the size of an object.
Measure the dimensions of a room.
Measure any distance up to 100m / 325ft.
Measure the angle between two lines or two surfaces.
Tap the ‘measuring mode’ button at the bottom of the screen, and choose the mode you want to use.
How to measure the size of an object
Following the instructions on the screen, hold your phone at one side of the object and press the Start Measurement button. When instructed, move the phone to the end. Repeat to get an average measurement.
How to measure a room dimension
Following the instructions on the screen, hold your phone on one wall of the room and press the Start Measurement button. When instructed, move the phone to the other wall. Repeat to get an average measurement.
How to measuring round obstacles
Simply walk around the obstacle while measuring, and Moasure will calculate the distance through the obstacle.
Multi-step measurements
For measurements greater than 3m / 10ft, the result will be more accurate if you measure in 2 or more steps.
How to increase the accuracy of the measurements:
Pick the phone up, move it and then put it down again, rather than slide it along the surface of the object.
Move your phone smoothly through the air, holding the phone parallel to the object being measured. Avoid rotating your phone.
Take the measurement as quickly as possible. The 5-second timer bar indicates when the measurement accuracy will deteriorate. If the timer bar reaches the amber or red regions, we recommend using the multi-step measurement mode instead (coming up next).
The accuracy of the measurement can be significantly improved by repeating the measurement up to five times, and using the average value. Because of the limited accuracy of the motion sensors in your phone, we recommend taking the average of two or three measurements to be confident in the result. If one result appears very different to the others it can be deleted by tapping the [image of the cross in a circle] button.

Put your phone with either the left side of the phone aligned with the left side of the object, or the right side of your phone aligned with the right side of the object. Tap the ‘Start Measurement’ button. (You can also tap the ‘Start’ button before aligning the phone against the object). Hold the phone still against the object until Moasure indicates you should move it to the end of the measurement (about 1 second). If it still says ‘WAIT’ after a few seconds, the object may be vibrating too much. Tap the ‘Cancel’ button and start again. Quickly move the phone and align it against the other edge of the object being measured. Align the opposite edge of the phone with the edge of the measured object. Hold the phone still against the object until the measured value is displayed (about 2 seconds). Increase the accuracy of the measurement by repeating the measurement up to five times, and using the average value. Because of the limited accuracy of the motion sensors in your phone, we recommend taking the average of two or three measurements to be confident in the result. If one result appears very different from the others it can be deleted by tapping the [image of the cross in a circle] button. Watch the video to see how to average multiple measurements: Measurements will be more accurate if you pick the phone up, move it and put it down again, rather than slide it along the surface of the object. Accuracy will also be improved by taking the measurement quickly. The 5-second timer bar indicates when the accuracy will deteriorate. If the timer bar reaches the amber or red regions, we recommend using the multi-step measurement mode instead.
4. Single distance Portrait’ measurement mode
“Tap the ‘measuring mode’ button at the centre bottom of the screen, and choose the mode you want to measure with. The currently selected mode is used to measure the distance between two surfaces up to 3m / 10ft apart, e.g. the distance between two walls to measure a room dimension. Watch the video clip to see how to measure in this mode. Put your phone with the back of the phone against the first surface e.g. against a wall. Tap the ‘Start Measurement’ button. (You can also tap the ‘Start’ button before placing the phone against the surface). Hold the phone stationary against the surface until Moasure indicates you should move it to the end of the measurement (about 1 second). If it still says ‘WAIT’ after a few seconds, the surface may be vibrating too much. Tap the ‘Cancel’ button and start again. Quickly move the phone and put the back of it against the second surface, e.g. the opposite wall. Hold the phone stationary against the surface until the measured value is displayed (about 2 seconds). Moasure takes the thickness of your phone into account when calculating the measurement result. Increase the accuracy of the measurement by repeating the measurement up to five times, and using the average value. Big fan of the Moasure One
We use the Moasure almost every day, it's accurate and fast when measuring square footage and slopes for jobs.
Have used Moasure to measure multiple aspects of golf course operations to include: greens, fairways, tee boxes, roughs, lakes, parking lots, buildings and cart paths for current and planned projects. Quick, easy and accurate helping our day-to-day operations, and project bidding processes for hiring contractors. Simplified measurements with dramatically more accuracy, cost determination and savings. Great product….thank you for developing such a great tool.
First off I’d like to state that I don’t typically give less than 5 stars unless it truly deserves less than 5 stars. This product is amazing, and I love the fact that I can really trust my measurements now, and in confidence tell my customers exactly how much material to expect. I do landscaping installs and this thing is a GAME changer for sod. However there are a few things I think it could improve on.
1. Using this thing without the stick is miserable. I haven’t ordered the stick yet, but constantly picking it up and moving it sucks. The stick is $70 so it’s hard to want to purchase it at first, but trust me… don’t buy this thing without it.
2. The accuracy. I would not use this tool and expect extremely accurate measurements. This is a great tool to use for estimating square footage of a job, but I wouldnt actually use it as a tool to measure materials. It works great when you can have a decent margin of error.
3. The on-off. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but it seems annoying to turn it on. I’m sure I’m just ignorant to this one.
4. The price. Obviously it’s quite expensive, so I think it was worth the initial investment? The only reason I can say yes is because now I can train other employees to do estimates. Before, there was no way I would ever trust one of my guys to measure someone’s yard for sod. Now I plan on getting them trained on Moasyre and I can step away from the measuring! It’s a true game changer in this aspect. If you’re unsure of your measurements, JUST BUY THIS THING.
The product is easy to set up, understand and use. The Moasure is a link that every estimator is currently missing in their tool box. The Moasure is on every job we estimate and can show the team the lay out before going to the job. If you are debating on getting one, don’t wait, you are making the right choice.
I use this for estimating fencing and landscaping jobs. Depending on the size of the project, this is a lot faster than eveny wheel measuring tool. The automatic area calculation speeds up material quantity estimates considerably, especially on odd shaped areas. I would definitely recommend. I have 2 devices for myself and the other estimator at my company.
We are a large landscape company and have been using this tool for about a month. There is a learning curve that we have figured out, and the tool is extremely helpful in getting the correct measurements quickly.
We are a full service landscaping company. This thing paid for itself the first time i used it. Subbed out a 6900 sq ft concrete driveway and we had a disagreement on the total square footage due to curves and a huge flair. Texted the contractor a screenshot of the moasure measurements and that was the end of the dissagreement!
There is a learning curve, but the app is great and the device seems to work great. My lead estiamtor just used it on a large sod job and our measurements differed 1500 sq ft between wheel and moasure. Needless to say moasure was accurate.
I am building designer and general contractor and have found Moasure to be an amazing tool. After practicing for about 3 hours in my yard / house, I've already measured 3 interior floorplans and 4 site plans. The interior measurements with Wall Mode are brilliant - it quickly records wall planes as well as perpendicular door or window openings. It easily cut my time for interior measurements of existing conditions in half. Combined with my laser tape measure, I can significantly reduce the time spent measuring. The exterior site measurements are equally impressive - because all data is 2D and 3D, I save having to set up a laser level to measure grades / elevations on a building site. Moasure will reduce the need for sending my surveyor on site to get topo information for building sites.
Overall I'm very impressed with Moasure's capabilities and will no doubt be using it on every job in the future.
Love the Device, cuts my measuring and design time down to a minimum. Very Accurate. And I love how light and easy it is to carry around. Great tool! Our company bought a second and we will most likely buy a couple more in the near future!
I got the Moasure One to simplify estimating for my flooring company. It has been very helpful to save me time on measurements, especially calculating the total square footage manually room by room. It also shows me the linear footage of the trim so I don’t need to measure twice or guesstimate how much we need.
We are currently using Moasure for septic compliance inspections and building plans for demolition in our office. The wall feature us great for verifying construction and recreating floor plans. Guessing area and angles are a thing of the past now. The ability to have a 3D model in minutes is amazing to have. Looking to outfit more employees with Moasure to be more efficient in the field and more accurate!
