Moasure enables you to take the following types of measurements:
Measure the size of an object.
Measure the dimensions of a room.
Measure any distance up to 100m / 325ft.
Measure the angle between two lines or two surfaces.
Tap the ‘measuring mode’ button at the bottom of the screen, and choose the mode you want to use.
How to measure the size of an object
Following the instructions on the screen, hold your phone at one side of the object and press the Start Measurement button. When instructed, move the phone to the end. Repeat to get an average measurement.
How to measure a room dimension
Following the instructions on the screen, hold your phone on one wall of the room and press the Start Measurement button. When instructed, move the phone to the other wall. Repeat to get an average measurement.
How to measuring round obstacles
Simply walk around the obstacle while measuring, and Moasure will calculate the distance through the obstacle.
Multi-step measurements
For measurements greater than 3m / 10ft, the result will be more accurate if you measure in 2 or more steps.
How to increase the accuracy of the measurements:
Pick the phone up, move it and then put it down again, rather than slide it along the surface of the object.
Move your phone smoothly through the air, holding the phone parallel to the object being measured. Avoid rotating your phone.
Take the measurement as quickly as possible. The 5-second timer bar indicates when the measurement accuracy will deteriorate. If the timer bar reaches the amber or red regions, we recommend using the multi-step measurement mode instead (coming up next).
The accuracy of the measurement can be significantly improved by repeating the measurement up to five times, and using the average value. Because of the limited accuracy of the motion sensors in your phone, we recommend taking the average of two or three measurements to be confident in the result. If one result appears very different to the others it can be deleted by tapping the [image of the cross in a circle] button.

Put your phone with either the left side of the phone aligned with the left side of the object, or the right side of your phone aligned with the right side of the object. Tap the ‘Start Measurement’ button. (You can also tap the ‘Start’ button before aligning the phone against the object). Hold the phone still against the object until Moasure indicates you should move it to the end of the measurement (about 1 second). If it still says ‘WAIT’ after a few seconds, the object may be vibrating too much. Tap the ‘Cancel’ button and start again. Quickly move the phone and align it against the other edge of the object being measured. Align the opposite edge of the phone with the edge of the measured object. Hold the phone still against the object until the measured value is displayed (about 2 seconds). Increase the accuracy of the measurement by repeating the measurement up to five times, and using the average value. Because of the limited accuracy of the motion sensors in your phone, we recommend taking the average of two or three measurements to be confident in the result. If one result appears very different from the others it can be deleted by tapping the [image of the cross in a circle] button. Watch the video to see how to average multiple measurements: Measurements will be more accurate if you pick the phone up, move it and put it down again, rather than slide it along the surface of the object. Accuracy will also be improved by taking the measurement quickly. The 5-second timer bar indicates when the accuracy will deteriorate. If the timer bar reaches the amber or red regions, we recommend using the multi-step measurement mode instead.
4. Single distance Portrait’ measurement mode
“Tap the ‘measuring mode’ button at the centre bottom of the screen, and choose the mode you want to measure with. The currently selected mode is used to measure the distance between two surfaces up to 3m / 10ft apart, e.g. the distance between two walls to measure a room dimension. Watch the video clip to see how to measure in this mode. Put your phone with the back of the phone against the first surface e.g. against a wall. Tap the ‘Start Measurement’ button. (You can also tap the ‘Start’ button before placing the phone against the surface). Hold the phone stationary against the surface until Moasure indicates you should move it to the end of the measurement (about 1 second). If it still says ‘WAIT’ after a few seconds, the surface may be vibrating too much. Tap the ‘Cancel’ button and start again. Quickly move the phone and put the back of it against the second surface, e.g. the opposite wall. Hold the phone stationary against the surface until the measured value is displayed (about 2 seconds). Moasure takes the thickness of your phone into account when calculating the measurement result. Increase the accuracy of the measurement by repeating the measurement up to five times, and using the average value. Because of the limited accuracy of the motion sensors in your phone, we recommend taking the average of two or three measurements to be confident in the result. If one result appears very different to the others it can be deleted by tapping the [image of the cross in a circle] button. Watch the video to see how to average multiple measurements: Accuracy will also be improved by taking the measurement quickly. Hold the phone stationary against the object until Moasure indicates you should move it to the end of the measurement (about 1 second). If it still says ‘WAIT’ after a few seconds, the object may be vibrating too much. Tap the ‘Cancel’ button and start again. Quickly move the phone towards the other edge of the object being measured. After about 3 seconds, temporarily rest the phone against any stationary object within reach – don’t worry if the object is not in a straight line between the start and end of your measurement; Moasure will still calculate the straight line distance. After about 1 second, Moasure will indicate you can move on again, and continue measuring. Repeat the above steps until you reach the other edge of the object being measured, at which point align the opposite edge of the phone with the edge of the measured object. Hold the phone stationary against the object until the measured value is displayed (about 2 seconds). The accuracy of the measurement can be significantly improved by repeating the measurement up to five times, and using the average value. Measuring Miniature Golf Greens... the game changer
We operate miniature golf courses and always rough estimating the amount of carpet needed when replacing… until now.
The measure is a game changer and can only wish we found this tool sooner. We have measured most all of our facilities and the results are awesome. Not only are we getting more precise measurements, which is saving us significant money, we are also creating a nice portfolio of overviews of all our miniature golf holes.
Very convenient and much easier than old school measuring
We originally purchased Moasure because a contractor who was helping us had one, and it looked to make things so much quicker and easier…plus a fantastic pdf layout of the measurements.
We learned to use it fairly quickly (doesn’t take too long to get the hang of it…the online documentation/support is great), and then we found that the contractor’s measurements/square footage that they SAID they got was off from what we were getting (after numerous double checks to be sure)…which helped us save some money!
It’s extremely helpful that it provides an immediate layout of the room that can quickly/easily be used to provide to contractors or keep on hand for decorating/use of space.
We originally didn’t purchase the stick, but after doing some yard measurements with it, realized we could likely benefit from it, and once we received the stick (quite quickly, by the way), it indeed made the yard measurements even more quick and easy.
This has been a very helpful purchase that puts the clumsiness of tape measure measuring behind us!
If you want to reduce time surveying, this is for you...
As a design professional, I strive to reduce time on tasks that are not "design related" like surveying existing interiors. Truth, is I need more time to design and create for a client wants and desires but require exact surveys that reflect the spaces accurately for good design to be implemented. This device is the answer. Now let's be clear, it's not perfect. There are a few R&D (Research and Development) items that the company needs to improve on. But overall, it has saved me a very quantifiable amount of time with the basic information required to design, and I have not really utilized the device to its full potential. Like stairs. I have yet to go up and down a set of stairs and plot in the risers and treads as shown on the video. But for interior layouts, I have developed the skills with the device to reduce my survey time by 30%-40%. So far I am happy with the device and look forward to continuing using this to minimize the menial tasks and maximize the more important tasks.
My brother lives in Hawaii and recently had knee replacement surgery. I went over to help with his recovery and he mentioned this product and how interested he was in it. He is in construction and landscaping so this is the perfect device for him…saves time and money. I bought it as a gift and he absolutely loves it. He says it works great and is a huge time saver.
I don’t have any pictures but I can tell you..he’s very particular about his contracts and results and he has been thrilled with this device. Had endless amounts of praise for it.
OMG!! This little device is amazing! I'm a 65 year old lady who quotes residential concrete lifting for our family business. Customer are very impressed seeing me measure area, as well as slope with my MOASURE! It looks a lot more professional and really raises my game! I just hope my competition doesn't see these!
I got my Moasure One a little over a month ago and it has quickly become the most helpful landscaping tool I have. (Well, maybe second, after my shovel). I'm not a professional landscaper or builder. We own a botanical sanctuary on 10 acres of forested land, where we propagate and conserve endangered native medicinal plants, and one of my major problems for years has been trying to accurately map the property, including elevations, and to accurately record the locations and dimensions of planting areas in the forest. When I found the Moasure One online, it seemed kind of expensive for personal use but, since having just one boundary of the property surveyed a few years ago cost a couple thousand dollars, I figured I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did!
With the Moasure One, I was able to quickly and easily map out the property boundaries, all the buildings and planting beds, and even locate key plants within the beds. I then was able to export that map into my landscaping design software and add the trees and plants. Now, thanks to the Moasure One I have an accurate, 3D and virtually walkable, map of the property at a fraction of the cost of having it professionally surveyed. And using the Moasure One, I'll be able to keep that map up to date as we make additional beds and plantings. Definitely money well spent.
I wish I got it a long time ago. Not having to use a pencil and tape while drawing my own sketch. After the first house I feel like I am way more comfortable using it and knowing the tricks. Not only the fact does it take the measurements but the fact that it can upload that to chief architect is huge. Save me hours of time which now I can pass on to the customer making me more competitive. I like it so much that i posted about it on my Wicked Builders Facebook and Instagram. I recommend to everyone. Buy it
The product definitely has a learning curve, but once you figure it out, it is amazing. Makes measuring rooms faster, and makes measuring large outside areas a breeze.
Best advice I've acquired... making my life a lot easier, I mean in a matter of time and effectiveness. A piece of equipment that is easy to use and can provide you with everything!
